Who'd have ever thought that I would know anything about the picture above? Just a few years ago I would have only known that the dudes pictured and were missing a few teeth & carrying hockey sticks. Now I know more than I probably ever wanted to know about hockey. Living with a crazed sports fan has been an adjustment - especially when it comes to football (Steelers) and hockey. So now looking at the picture above, I recognize my homeboys - Crosby, Sykora, Malone, Malkin - these fellas have been on our TV for the past month straight (hockey playoffs seem to never end!)
Allow me to illustrate the point: Last Saturday I was in the beauty shop in Fordyce getting ready for Kristen's wedding. The TV was on so we could keep an eye on the developing storm heading our way. Someone changed the channel - and among all the chatter, laughter, and excitement of those around me I got sucked in to what was on the TV. Sarah looked over at me - assuming that I was watching the weather ticker at the bottom of the screen - and asked how it looked. I said "Well, I don't know. We're in the 2nd game of the series and Malkin better score before too long because we're behind. It's the playoffs ya know." The room got silent. Kim broke the silence: "Who are you? And what have you done with my non-sports fan?"
I realized it, but it was too late. My sports fan has rubbed off on me!
