Odds and ends

I really really really want one of these.

Like I really really really really want one. Not that I would this beauty every day, but a girl gets tired of using her $20 Target hand mixer in her mis-matched (too short) bowl - splattering dough everywhere. Do not get me started on my hand mixer. I am more than ready to trade up to the KitchenAid. Especially a RED one. Oh so Bethy.

I have been a follower of The Pioneer Woman's blog for some time now (Thanks, Lindsay!). For those of you who haven't visited her site you really need to. She posts great recipes, stories and seriously it's a fun and entertaining site to keep up with. I keep my eyes peeled because once in awhile she gives away goodies - like the mixer pictured above. PLUS this time she give away 5 copies of her cookbook.

I was so sure that I was going to win. I mean, not only do I really want her cookbook (it's on my Christmas list!) but I really really really want this mixer. So I entered. And I just logged in, hoping to see my name as the winner. No such luck. But I was fascinated to see that 35,287 entered for a chance to win the contest. CRAZY! So here I was SO sure that I was going to be the winner, but I was going against 35,286 to 1 odds here! Remind me to not buy a lotto ticket any time soon.
